In 2003 I left my job early one day to see a governor I had never heard of give a speech. Up until that point in my life I had never been politically active. Six months later I took a leave from work to go to Iowa and volunteer for Howard Dean. Iowa in February is cold. Losing is hard. It was a tremendous experience that has since shaped much of my life. In 2007 simply by chance I shared a cab to an airport with the internet team from the DNC. They offered me an opportunity to come to DC and be the lead designer for the party during a historic presidential election cycle. Then came health care reform. I am done with boring jobs that make no impact in my community. Walking out of my job back in 2003 may be one of the best decisions of my life.
